No fights pleaseee :P

GA is not an option for this procedure. Only sedation which is for sure happening.

And no 'medical advice' would have been used unless discussed with the nurse before the procedure anyways.

But regardless, thank you all for your replies, really appreciate it. Seems I have gotten lucky since sedation wasn't standard back in the day haha

You'll be fine... I've had a few in recent years and it's *not too bad at all. You'll also get a decent cuppa afterward.

*I also had a lung removed earlier in the year so my idea of "not too bad" may be somewhat skewed lol

All done! Was literally in there for about 5-10 minutes. Spent more time waiting to be 'checked in' than anything.

Was sedated, chatting away with the nurses and doctor.

Then the throat spray came and it did taste like banana (With the peel left on though :S )

They had a few screens around the room, one big one behind me for them to watch, then another smaller one infront of me. I watched the entire thing and remember most of it, couldnt feel anything either. Was kinda fun tbh haha.

The only painful bit was getting the IV put in. I hadn't eaten or drunk anything since last night so my veins shrunk right up and became impossible to find.

10/10 would do again

So I've got a top and tail booked for January (joy).

I was told I would be there for roughly two hours - and that I would be unable to drive for 12 hours due to sedation.

So there you go.

coloscopy takes quite a bit more time than gastroscopy.
