I do cardio work at the gym three times a week (rowing machine x 10mins, stationary bike x 30mins, treadmill x 15mins) and muscle toning at home two or three times a week (light full-body weight work x 60mins). In summer I also cycle to work two or three times a week (36km round trip) and do occasional longer group rides in the weekend.

Tracked on a Fitbit Surge HR / Fitbit app on Andriod, and some stat.s from the cycle computer stored in an old-school Excel spreadsheet.

Ive gone through I think 3 Fitbits since 2013 Zip, Charge and a Surge. They dont last. However Fitbit the company are good at replacement.

With this use their app.

In conjunction with Fitbit I have used on a Smartphone Endomondo and latterly Map my Walk ( I do competitive walking) which I found quite good.

This week I am ditching Fitbit and am getting for xmas luckily a Garmin Forerunner 235.

1) Fitbit Surge (Though I'm looking at a replacement - don't really like the style of the surge and it's worse since the strap broke and I had to superglue it back on)

2) Fitbit App to track step\gps based stuff and weight.   Jefit for gym\weights.

3) The apps do most of what I need, though I very occasionally log into the Jefit website to rearrange the order of exercises in workouts since you can't seem to do it in the app.

I have the Withings Activite - looks similar but it's the Swiss Made one, with leather (although you can easily swap the strap and it won't look different on a quick inspection.

I also have the Fitbit Surge and Fitbit Blaze. I use the Surge when cycling around because of its built-in GPS. And the Blaze on a casual setup. But the Withings looks like a watch so it just works with either a suit or jeans. I wear that during the day.

Had 3 Fitbit Surges fail within a 9 month period.

All replaced under warranty without too much fuss, but its frustrating to have them so flaky.

Currently using nothing but considering the new samsung Gear S3.

I've just upgraded to a Garmin Forerunner 235 (from a Forerunner 25) which I'm enjoying. Still syncing to Garmin Connect and Strava but also to Training Peaks, just in case I ever decide to get a coach and want that history.

I recently replaced my TomTom Spark with a series 2 Apple Watch.

The TomTom performed well for tracking my running, but was poorly designed and ultimately failed because of the etched charging contacts wearing away.

The Apple watch is just the opposite - vastly superior in design but the GPS accuracy is very hit and miss at least with the standard workouts app. I think I am going to have to experiment with third party apps and see if they work any better.

I thought I would update my status? tho little has changed in the 6 months I have used the Fenx3.

1) Garmin Fenix 3 - HRM-RUN strap, garmin speed/cadence combo for the bike and an indoor trainer Tacx Satori smart.

2) Garmin Connect

3) Garmin Connect and Stava premium. I do also send the data to Smashrun, mapymyrun and endomondo, however I do not actively use those services.

Just recently I have been told by my physio I need to stop all running and work on my flexibility and strength so will not be getting much quality use from the Fenix, but may use it more on the bike now.

@Ezzie tends to jump on Geekzone very rarely but she uses the same running set up I do.

She just replaced her Garmin Vivoactive with a Forerunner 735XT (with wrist HR) and loves it. It is more or less exactly the same as the Fenix3 and 920XT, except is a lot slimmer and looks better on those who have smaller wrists.

Just wanted to point out you don't need $800 of stuff to get fit.

I have kept my gadgetry to zero.

I run regularly, minimum of twice a week all year round and then 4 times a week when training for a specific event. (Marathons and half marathons)

I have been doing this coming up to 3 years.

1) 15 year old G-Shock watch to time the run.

2) Nothing

3) Google maps occasionally for mapping out routes to get a rough idea of distances.

rscole86:  out of interest what in particular do you need to strengthen/make more flexible?
