I stick with my existing Optomitrists, tried specsavers a number of years ago, happy with the service just not the end product. I have a wide head, so I was pretty much left with the “2 for $499” option as they were the only ones that would fit (and which put the frame cost on par with my usual optometrist). Because I’m rather blind I needed HD lenses which added a fair sack onto the cost of each lens (again on similar footing price wise with my usual Optomitrists). Then when they arrived the lenses had a “yellow” tinge to them, never had that before with my usual Opt. My experience gave me a cost on par with what I usually paid, and the optomitrist consult was only $15 cheaper at the time.
the last two visits to my optomitrist since then got me a pair of normal specs, HD lenses, and a pair of polarised prescription sunnies for less than what it cost me at spec savers. Needless to say I won’t be going back.
my wife has no problems with them though :-)
