The latest Withing update cant update the watch, I guess for the same reason I couldnt get the watch set up to start with.
Will try later today when I can switch over to a cellular data connection.
I suspect this update wont help with the problem of irritated skin under the watch strap buckle.

What software version is currently installed? Mine is running 1070 and the Withings app doesn't show any updates...

Also, there's a new mid-tier Withings Activite Steel available now. Still silicone band but stainless steel instead.

Withings app V 2.10.60
Pop V 1070

But yesterday the app came up saying "An update is available for your Activite Pop."
Maybe it already updated when I wasnt looking and the notification just hasnt disappeared.
I'll find out later when I leave the house.

The Steel's currently only available from the Withings website at the moment with free in-region shipping ($170 US) - I assume it would be able to be delivered to NZ via YouShop?

This new model does seem to hit the sweet spot in terms of both price and aesthetics/design. There's something about the Pop that puts me off; it just looks too much like a Swatch in all its plastic glory, whereas the Steel, even with a silicone band, looks more classy. And I can't justify the cost of the standard Activite!

Does anyone know if excercise on equipment like rowing machines is picked up via the tracker on Withings watches?

I'm still somewhat torn between a "normal" watch with some smarts like this and a true "smart watch"; the problem with the latter is I can't find one that is both aesthetically pleasing (in a conventional watch way) and functions well. All smart watches are still too chunky for my liking, especially depth; it's just whether these Withings watches will add much value to my life over my 15-year-old Ecodrive which is still going fine...

I had to go into the app and check for updates, and it did the business. No amount of tapping will now make it spin (I don't have the alarm feature set at the moment). Actually I shall miss the random spinning but only a little.

I'm pretty much using the Activite only with the silicone band as the leather one will not last with a daily exercise routine (ok walkig a bit) and 24 hour wear.

If you could buy a Steel and a replacement leather strap (presumably you can but there's not shown on the Withings store) you'd have the best of all options. A regular leather strap will work I'm sure but you'd have to get the right pins and fiddle with it.

Overall if the Steel had been available I'd have bought that and figured out the leather strap.

I can't see a button for this... Any hints, please?

I think the Android app came later and it sounds like it's not as full featured as yet.

New phone?
