1st world problems......

I don't think I have ever seen advertising for Aim toothpaste which is probably why no one sells it anymore, why would a supermarket give shelf space to a product they only might sell a handful off a month.

Have you tried to see if your dentist can source it?

Everybody thinks the locally owned New World supermarket is evil and has dumped the product - yet there hasn't been a single piece of evidence posted to back this up. The evil big Australian company that makes Aim may have decided to remove it from the market. We simply don't know.

As for Amazon coming over and taking over I really do have to wonder if you really know what you're in for. Have you looked at Amazon's entry into the grocery market? It's through their own vary carefully controlled stores that stock the biggest and best selling products. It's acquisition of Wholefoods also targets a similar strategy. Amazon aren't dumb - they know what dead inventory doesn't make money so they sell what sells. That means a product such as Aim toothpaste is highly unlikely to be in their grocery stores.

not good news .. and still yet to source a method to buy it again

Do they have some kind of exclusive-distributorship contract with supermarkets in Chch? Otherwise, surely they're free to sell to any other distributor there? So, why aren't they marketing to alternative retailers like $2 shops or Uncle Bills or corner dairies or whatever?

My reading is that they've become fat and lazy, and dependent on the supermarket chains to be their marketing department. Maybe toothpaste manufacturers are like those little birds that live by cleaning crocodiles' teeth.

Maybe the OP should just look to buy one of those little birds?

Sheple for obvious reasons..

yes Big markets (or their distributors) siding with big brands

I dont think a 1 inch row of paste stacked next to the mint brand would be much shelve space

lets face it.. people are influenced by tv marketing and big markets use subliminal signage and tactics and even

smells to get people to buy stuff as impulses

The only old toothpaste Adv I get flash backs to was that terrible one with the lady showing that blue dye gets into chalk and an Aussie accent ...eet does geeet eeennn

its not the only product I cant get any more ENO original.. the lemon causes side effects

just heard from countdown.. they are looking in to it/

but theres just one big distribution center some HEAD there makes the decisions to import

the shops buy from there only it seems.. why competition is good

as for the chalk and dye I believe it was mccleans.. it does get in..

other centers in NZ might import it and may offer to post it..

other then that I have to see if can get relatives in aus to send me some.

but its hard to pay them with paypal if dont use it themselves
