It does, however, strongly imply that it might not comply with the other safety & EMI rules, and generally casts doubt on the quality.
I think insurers sometimes throw a bit of a fit with non-compliant foreign gear.

They paid that guy who left the house with a steak in his toaster so I really think the bar for a payout is exceptionally low.
Hey, I've been seeing ads for this manscaping product 'Smoov' which has a slick professional looking social media presence but when emailing their contact address about some aspects of the product that weren't clear on the website, the email response I got back was from Hamish Donkers. He appears in most of the promotional videos:
The opaque language of the website, combined with the simple and informal reply I got from Hamish raised a few red flags for me and in turn, lead me to this thread.
It's possible that he used the money from the 'Massage Guns' to go legit and actually produce his own product. I haven't been able to find similar ones on AliExpress but by the same token, I'm finding it hard to find third-party reviews from people using this product.
Is there any way to know if the product and charger itself are safe without purchasing one?

No way. Also it is hype, and a scam.

Nope. Just importing stuff.
'Donkers also owns companies selling turmeric face cream Bera and testicle shaver Smoov. After RNZ inquiries, Donkers said he was unsure whether the shaver's charger plug was compliant with New Zealand standards and that he would need to check with his supplier."
"Aside from its electrical woes, Myomend has been causing a headache for customers for months, with unanswered emails, delays, broken guns and chargers, dead batteries, and poor customer service."

In terms of the shaver, it's USB powered (without an adapter supplied), so all extra low voltage, and no need for any certification. Kinda worrying that the importer got stung with the massage tools and hadn't even bothered to check this product was legal to sell though.
Product looks to be this one:
Thanks for the quick response guys!
I wouldn't mind as much if it were a remanufactured item he's slapping a sticker on but the lack of safety compliance is a dealbreaker for me.
GSManiac: Just saw a sponsored Facebook post saying that all stock must go. Sounds like he’s shutting shop.
Still selling them for at-least double the price he paid...

Hi Myomend team,
Myomend began with amazing hopes and expectations to spread the positive healing effects of percussive massage to all Kiwi's. It was incredible to see such rapid growth early on, which was both rewarding and extremely challenging to manage, and has been a crazy journey ever since. It has mostly been amazing hearing the stories of our customers acheiving their goals, and better qualities of life through reduced pain and increased rate of rehabilitation. Unfortunately, I will have to step away from the business, and Myomend will be coming to an end. We are having our closing sale, with a 60% off price of our Myomend Pulse Pro, with stock in 3 colours. This will be the last time to get your hands on a Pulse Pro!! Most of the orders today and tomorrow will recieve orders within the next week, with all orders after that as preorders which will arrive in 3 weeks time until all stock is gone I will be continuing all after service on all faults/replacements under warranty over the next year
I would like to personally thank all of you for making this Myomend journey a special one, and hope that our product continues to deliver high quality results to improve your wellbeing for years to come
Edit: Spacing
I probably would have done the same, and bailed on the brand at this point.
The market is now super crowded in the massage gun space including big brand retailers.
Myomend brand has been pritty much trashed at this point. On google:
The business model seems to involve perpetual specials, which could potentially fall afoul of regulators if the business was continued in this way.
Sourcing compliant chargers would have added costs and cut into margins.
It is possible the failure rate of units may have been higher than expected.
Also Myomend was Tainting Hamish Donkers personal brand. On google the #1 & #4 results are negitive news stories, and #6 is this thread that is generally negitive.
I think moving on to new products (testicle shaver, skin care products) under new brands was the right strategic move.
