Which type of glue do I need to get from Repco to glue that "black plastic thing" to the car door?

In the trade I tend use stuff like ADOS MS ( note I've not actually used this particular product but lots of similar ones)

It's basically similar to standard silcone but really strong and not easy to tear.
If you want the very strongest option then I think mitre 10 sell windscreen sealer, just make sure you have cleanup solutions ready before you start and wear old clothes and gloves. If things get messy these products are a nightmare.

The door rubber would normally be held on with clips, is this something you can solve with new clips or has the rubber been torn around the clips?

No clips. The rubber is glued to the car. That picture was grabbed from the net last night.

I had a Mitsubishi Diamante a few years back where the rubber had no clips, it started to come away, once it started nothing could prevent it for long. Even the Mitsi dealer could never permanently fix it and it went back many times, luckily it was under the new car warranty.
It was actually the last Mitsi I will ever own.

Normal ain't coming back, the crazy stays.

There isnt much that silicon sealer wont stick together - there are building held together with it!

The main thing would be making sure the surfaces are clean and not greasy, then glob enough silicon to do the job and stick some tape to hold in place over night.

The other advantage is that silicon sealer has acetic acid as a curing agent - this is effectively vinegar. So it has a mild smell that goes away quickly. Some of the other really strong contact adhesives can reek for a very long time... Could make the inside of your car most unpleasant.

If it is less than a year old take it to you rFord Dealer it will be covered by the new car warranty

Also dont get glue from Repco, get it from Bunnings or Warehouse, it will be cheaper.
