If you are, then this is one of the weekends, if your like me, that you look forward too each year.

The Great Race...The Bathurst 1000.

Who's going to be watching? Anyone actually going?

For those not going, Sky sport has the coverage showing Practice sessions today and tomorrow, with qualifying around 6pm tomorrow (NZ time), a practice or Saturday, the Top 10 shootout Saturday night around 7pm (NZ time) and the race coverage beginning from 12pm Sunday.

The big news before the race is that James Courtney is out, still not race fit after the incident in Sydney with the navy Helicopter.

Who is going to win?

Can the PRA Fords be beaten?

Will they crack 300km/h down Conrod?

Will skippy make his\her annual appearance?

As a Holden supporter, it pains me to say it, but I think that the PRA Pepsi Max Fords of Mark Winterbottom\Warren Luff and Chaz Mostert\Cameron Waters will be hard to beat.

I'm working Thursday and Friday so won't be able to watch the practice sessions, but will be watching the timings from V8 Sueprcars website.

Absolutely. My 5&6 y/o's know it as "car day" and that think it is up there with the other "special days", you know like Christmas, Easter etc :-)
I stumped up for a Fan Pass subscription so I can get HD for the projector that is set up for the weekend. Fan Pass testing so far has shown it to be rock solid (UFB 30).

Oh and as for answers to your questions:
Who is going to win? Genuinely not sure, I think its the most open for a large number able to win than it has been for years.
Can the PRA Fords be beaten? Yes
Will they crack 300km/h down Conrod? Yes, but sounds like that may not necessarily mean a faster overall laptime. Probably will get a read on that from around 1.30pm today.
Will skippy make his\her annual appearance? I hope not.

Also I REALLY hope they have sorted out the surface issues from last yeah - that wasn't a good look.

Dont follow any one team really, but always been Ford supporter in the past, but now I get behind Nissan...... they'll get there ;)
Skippy makes for some entertainment, but never nice to see one trying to insert itself into a car doing 200k+

I have been working on the butt imprint on my couch for a few weeks now in readiness for Sunday.

The sausage rolls, chippies and dip and more importantly the beer, have been stocked ready to go. Screen on the 65inch plasma has been cleaned.

Kids have been told Dad doesn't exist from about 12pm on Sunday, so don't even try and ask me anything.

Don't follow a brand as such more follow the drivers, Scott McLaughlin, David Reynolds & Craig Lowndes. So think I have my bases covered.

Hmmm  will be interesting...
I have always supported HRT but I dont like their chances unless they get some luck...
Fords are doing well overall this season but Bathurst is a different story completely!

Will watch practice and qualifying and see
As long as SVG is somewhere on the podium I will be happy...

Doing your best is much more important than being the best.

Actually, no i don't, and they're not.  Was surfing the 7mate site and went to the prog guide. You are correct, it is Ten that is showing it.

I Think you mean Mark Winterbottom/Steve Owen (Warren Luff is Garth Tanders co driver) or maybe Luffy has seen the light & come over to the winning side.

Watching it on V8 Superview (yearly sub) with Getflix

Who is going to win?  Ford to Win. Would prefer Frosty to win but if Chaz does it for a 2nd year in a row that's fine with me too.
Can the PRA Fords be beaten? No!
Will they crack 300km/h down Conrod? I hope so.
Will skippy make his\her annual appearance? No not this year

Hoping for a shower or 2  to spice things up

Enjoy the race everyone
