Not exactly correct.
The main point to note already mentioned by a couple is that they must be wired so that they turn off when you turn the headlights on. There is no 'dimmed' status, only on or off. Here's what you must keep in mind to pass a WoF:

The other point to note is that once fitted they must operate correctly, even though they are not mandatory equipment.
timmmay: Given there are cutouts for lights, do y'all think there will be a wiring harness down there that would be made for fitting lights?
