Hi

I appreciate this will be a niche problem but I have a 2018 Subaru Outback (MY17 Model) which has Mirrorlink as the way to connect a phone to the infotainment screen.  The mirrorlink icon is greyed out and I haven't managed to figure out a way to connect my phone to it (the phone itselt  a Samsung s8 says its connected to the car via mirrorlink).

When I contacted Subaru about it they have said this functionality is no longer available- which for a car less than a year old is pretty poor I would have thought.  The current newer model comes with android auto/apple carplay.  Any ideas how I could update the firmware?

thanks

It will be a mix up of call only bluetooth connection, multimedia etc. We have an adapter similar in the fathers Audi B8 S4 so we can play music via that adapter. It will then switch to the cars bluetooth for the calling. Its a real mess up..

To understand your issue, is this a factory provided solution where you need to connect with that app or are you using a pioneer headunit?

I'd also ask this question on the Aussie Whirlpool forum!

What has the dealership said about this? Have you tried to forget bluetooth devices and re connect?
Does the app on the phone itself handle the bluetooth connections ?

Cheers
