hi all,
am more curious than anything else, was wondering if anyone else in Auckland CBD area has been screwed over car parking by Wilson car parking company ??
i went through the process of filling in forms etc and faxing it to them so i could get a monthly allocated car park and after they confirmed i had a spot reserved for me i was stunned to find they didnt actually do anything about my request !!! since they didnt tell me what bay i was meant to park in and if i was meant to display a parking permit, access to get in and out of the building.
i found this behavior very strange, given that i was willing to pay them and sign up for 6 months. anyone else out there who has had similar experience ?? i Also noticed there is no where on their website (http://www.wilsonparking.co.nz/) where you can complain either !!
guess customer service is out the window.

eh I guess you're not the first they've been on fair go a couple of times due to one reason or another, and I am sure that was Auckland too.

These guys are very well known for poor customer service and accusations of generally unfair business practices.

I have had several run ins with them myself, and they are awful to deal with over the most minor of issues.

I avoid them like the plague.

In fact, no. I would much rather have the plague than use Wilson Parking.

surely there must be some sort of law regarding this sort of customer service ??

i mean i have email trail from them and paper work to show i was promised a parking spot and when i asked them for information about my Bay i got nothing back ... not a sausage ...

the sad thing is i left my trusty old car parking spot since i was promised a discount by Wilson :( so currently i dont have a car park and i end up driving to city everyday and hunting for a car park like a mad hunter gatherer desperate for food ....

"poor customer service" is normally not against the law, unless they contravene an act or do something specifically illegal - e.g. you can't advertise $99 Widgets for 75% off, and then not have a reasonable supply in store.

Fair Trading Act covers most of what a business can do right/wrong in terms of interactions with customers, but just failing to process your application does break any laws that I know of.

I am not a lawyer.

I avoid Tournament where I can....  their pricing is sky high in some areas for so called "safe parking" etc.
Went into one thats on their site as "safe, modern etc" - the site was a demolished building and they hadnt even bothered to try and level it out so you were driving through potholes etc. The "security" was a single chain attached to posts and a little box where you paid the little man who was watching TV with no sign of a security monitor.
I then got charged $10 for 20mins parking.

Give me Wilsons any day for casual parking.........

Both Wilson and Tournament have some of those "this bit of gravel on some spare land is a carpark cha ching" sites.

In Newmarket where I work the daily early bird rates are $7-8 per day at either Wilson or Tournament.  Extra early bird roof top is around $5.

... but yes temporary parking rates are obscene for either.

Maybe we should get the regulators involved.
Shoddy service, price gouging, clearly no competition in the industry....  for what is clearly an essential service.

Lets get the Commerce Commission involved and force these guys to invest lots of money and charge significantly less for it.  Surely there must be some overseas parking prices we can use as a benchmark for local prices.
Hell, lets just give the new entrants a whopping great free pass by setting subeconomic prices and ignore any past investment and an appropriate return on that investment.  No reason to think that users cant vote with their feet by going elsewhere or choosing to find alternative methods of transport.

WILSON PARKING ticket SCAM. Check any Infringement Notices from Parking Enforcement Services.
This just happened to me.
I received a Parking Enforcement Notice on the 25th Nov 2008.
I was in Australia at the time of alleged infringement and my car was knowhere near a Wilson Parking.
After many requests for basic information like where the actual Wilson car park was (5133 QCENTRAL) which
means nothing to me.
I received this letter from Parking Enforcement Services.

Thank you for your letter in relation to the above noted Parking Enforcement Notice.

Please accept my apoloiges the letter you received was in error, the computer generated letters
went out before your name was removed from our database.

What the hell?

So this is a warning to people to check bogus Wilson Parking Infringement Notices sent by
PARKING ENFORCEMENT SERVICES.
