nice kart,i dont know much at all bout karts, looking a the brake system, just one disc on the rear axle, does this mean they basicly have a locked rear diff as such?

Theres no diff, its just one long axle with a single disc and a single cog driven by the engine.

I'd love to take it for a hoon down the motorway, but with a ground clearance of 1cm, the slightest bump would scrape the hell out of the bottom, and lord knows our NZ roads are full of bumps like that :D
Much like a sacked Honda going over a speed bump!

lol, most like a dropped Honda doing anything on a road that is not like a glass surface, why do they always bone out the most crappy budget-end models like Civics with the horrible "replica" parts that don't fit and wonder why they fall apart and bumpers fly off at 80Kph. :-P

Awesome kart, I like the simple style of it. Has been a good while since I last raced one.

Our latest company vehicle. (Up for sale).

Its a 1966 Buick Wildcat, V8, bagged, etc etc.

Your vehicle would fit in the boot of my vehicle I think!

I suspect yours goes around corners better though. HAHA

It wouldn't surprise me if it would fit in the back of that!
The kart is actually surprisingly wide. I thought it would fit on the back of my dads trailer. I was wrong!

I run my KT100 Yamaha at Mt Wellington.
Great karts good fun
Try going real fast into a corner the way you spin of in these is so much fun!!

Yea, I love mid engine cars. I have two of them. Three including this one! :P

Having felt the rubber of the tyres when cold, I'd imagine they become quite sticky when they get some heat in them. I imagine she'll be able to pull a few G's in the corners. Maybe 10.... Hahaha jokes. But I wouldn't be surprised if she got over 2.
Oh, and I found out that I'm getting an extra engine. For free :)

Nahh, its a Yamaha KT100 engine. Air cooled, 100cc, ~15hp and 15,000 RPM! WHEEEE!

Also need a Princess, and oversized turtle with spikes on his back, and a couple of Italian plumbers and I'll be set to race!

Well I took it out for the first time today.

Of course, being the first time I've used it, I had some teething trouble!
First, my Dad and I couldn't get the thing started on its stand! The fuel (2 stroke) had been sitting for a while, so we whipped up a new batch and bled that through. Seemed to help, but found the plug was pretty much bung. Replaced it with one that was a step hotter and was all good.

Then on the track, trying to get it running properly was a different story! The throttle was very touchy. Give it too much and it would just bog down hard. Could only open the throttle to a certain point and accelerate from there, which wasn't optimal.
A friendly guy named Matt who works at Alpha Karts came and had a look and got my low and high jet settings right. Being part of the EFI generation, my knowledge on carbs is pretty limited!
Took it out after that and she was hooning along! My next problem was the brakes! Found they were pretty weak, and even when they were full on, they weren't working too well.
I found that one of the pads wasn't even touching the disc, sitting about a mm away from it. Matt commented that the pads were pretty worn and should be replaced, so will look into that.

Oh, and final thing for the day, a bolt on the exhaust manifold stripped out of the engine. So now I have to get that helicoiled! And I was having such a good run too!
