After a month of doing nothing, I finally saw Turners in the weekend

The guy I saw wasn't very keen on the car - as soon he as got in, he said the clutch was gone/going, he thought a small dent in the roof would be a WOF fail and he told me it was leaking oil (which I thought it was for a while, but could never prove)

In the end - $200 as a end of life car or $500 if I get a VTNZ WOF on it

WOF I could do, but I didn't like the "VTNZ" requirement.
Need to ring VTNZ up an ask what happens if I bring it in and they fail it - the current WOF is valid till the end of August. Does that stay with the car or is it gone?

Leaning towards "scrap" :-)

Any car crusher will give you $200 for it, so don't feel rushed to sell it to Turners for that.

TradeMe, $200 reserve, buyer must pick up. Include an offer to put a new WoF on it if the car sells for over $500.... you can't lose.

Contact local pistol \ rifle club and auction it off on trademe as a "experience"

Pretty sure a corporate group would happily pay $$$$ to shoot up a car. You get some $$$, the club gets some $$$ and people leave with smiles smelling like cordite.

List it on Trademe or one of the "cars for sale" Facebook groups. Almost anything that runs and has valid wof/rego is worth about $1000.
