We imported a 2014 Audi S4 from Japan, I heard the typical spiel a sales man gives you "They sometimes turn up in the mail a week or two later" Yeah thats a lie.

Haha, Yeah i know right. I looked at him sideways when he stated that and said to him, We all know that wont happen. After that he quickly realized that we were not idiots and more educated than him. Bartered him down for an absolute bargain.

Oh yea also, Dont expect anything to come with the car from Japan apart from the car a tiny bit of fuel and 1 key. Even if stated otherwise i doubt you will ever see anything more.

Well, when we bought a WIngroad few years back, it only came with the one key/remote. Week later a parcel arrived from the dealer with another key and remote "just arrived from our supplier". :) So it can happen ;)

How many Lotto tickets did you buy?

Or was receiving a spare key equally as valuable haha!

There *are* ways around spending heaps on a second "key" -- I bought a jap import Prius with one key, and then did some scouting around for a spare -- and was stunned at the prices. I went back to the dealer, and asked him -- yes, he had some spares lying around, and could program one of them for my car for $75. He did, and it works a treat. Of course, it is *possible* that he kept back a second key...but I think not, because he didn't offer this option when I bought the car. Worth trying.

There are 3 different options, of which 1 only is available off the shelf in NZ.

It has no buttons so no remote access …. Key to unlock door etc.

This key requires cutting & coding upon arrival at our store … a cost of around $100.

The key itself is price at $106.55.

Both prices are plus GST.

We would use your existing key to “mirror cut” the new key (unless the key code could be found which is normally on the barrel of the right front door lock).

A key with buttons is available via indent x Japan & we assume it could be coded to your vehicle … $648.96 plus GST, plus coding/cutting.
