ERoad at my workplace too. Have the driver displays which gives accurate speeds and immediate feedback on any drivers performance issues (e.g over-speeds, cornering, excessive acceleration). I don't like being tracked anymore than the next guy but there is a bigger picture to fleet management in respect of the health and safety requirements of an employer (road as well as personal safety) as well as efficiency and cost saving. Tracking commercial fleets IMO is a no-brainier. I like the immediate feedback we get from the eroad system rather than being called into the boss's office a week later.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Any new suggestions for GPS tracking companies? As I'm considering switching away from Blackhawk. As my tracker is slowly failing. But they want me to sign a new fixed term contract, and pay extra per month. So considering switching to a different tracking company.

There seems to be more than 1 company offering Armada GPS. Is that a platform that is wholesaled to multiple RSPs? Or is it simply separate brands?

As I'm considering switching to them.

i gave black hawk a try and found that the unit wasnt the a great, it wouldnt log alot of information for me in one of my old cars, so it got sent back,

armada gps is the way to go in my opinion, i have used it for years and it work flawlessy, i have one of the older unite which is the SA-3810 and that has a few inputs and out puts that can be programmed to lock and unlock or arm and disarm the car alarm or what ever you like really.

im keen to try out one of their new units and see what its like,

they have just rebranded in the last year.

armadagps.co.nz is the commercial tracking and they have a free tracking one as well, im paying 30 per unit for full reports and so on and their customer service is excellent!, i have had to replace the batteries in both of my units and they have done that free of charge, all i had to do was pay for postage

our company uses smart track, seems to work well, it's a good idea for job tracking etc.

Even though when 1st installed the company said it was exclusively to prove to clients that we were on site for xx time, it has evolved in to a tool to manage poor employee time keeping.

Just personal use? Or business? I've been using Gps Gate for a number of years, hosted at home. But I have had it hosted on AWS and Azure, it's almost turnkey on AWS, very little setup....and apart form AWS charges, free for 5 devices.
