I've used both, Google Maps is the all around better performer with CarPlay.

Does Waze work with Android Auto? If yes, I may get it a try.

I wonder when the speed limit improvements will hit google maps in NZ? That is one of the major things I miss after moving from Nokia Here maps to google maps. TBH I'm tempted to try Waze just for this...

It's pretty handy...our roads (and overseas friends have mentioned this), we're pretty sparse at posting the speed limit.

Thanks for all the feed back guys - I think I will stick with Google maps via Carplay and yes I do prefer Google maps over 🍎 maps.

Been reading the Tome on our new Kia Sportage EX urban - Then playing with the settings - WOW😮 - talk about a kid with a new toy 🏎

"Lane Keeping Assist" (LKA), which actually starts turning the wheel, could be very useful on the open road but otherwise I will switch it off, anyway it doesn't kick in till over 60.

We use here maps for our units and have posted speed enabled driving facing. Our drivers update all of our speed zones for here maps and it keeps our roads up to date. This is also for the AU market.
So if you use here maps, you can thank my customers for keeping the data up to date and accurate.

Here is an example of a correction request the clients submit. System compiles all info for them, they just enter the new limit and a comment.

Hi All,

Waze is in the process of updating all of NZ's speed limits when we get notified by the NZTA.

Parts of the Waikato have already been done, mostly reductions.

Our maps are updated daily to include the latest data including new roads, speed limits & cameras.

Our Real Time Closures don't require an map update, they show live as we enter them.

Waze requires an active data connection to be used, there are no plans to change that.

Any questions, I am here.

Some cars, such as my Forester, take the speed limit from the GPS and stick it up on the dash at all times if set to do so.

Subaru has Car Play but the in built GPS is TomTom and I assume that’s where the speed comes from.

Deanonzl: ... Any questions, I am here.

😢 Any chance Waze can get more up to date info about roadworks, especially in Auckland? Seems like Uber navigation is sometimes more up to date than Waze 🤯.

waze has user reported issues, so yes.  That was its point of difference.

We enter all the closures info we find from the NZTA & Auk City website, quite a few are not listed.

Is there somewhere in particular you have issues with?

Congrats on the new arrival.  I used Waze for a while, but 50% of my driving is outside of coverage, so I ditched it in favour of google maps, which seems to cache what it needs for low coverage areas.

I guess that's my issue then. If NZTA & AKLCC don't list them, you can't add them.
