I'd forgotten about that. I'd prefer a merge of JDM Speedo calibration and English language. My current Speedo goes to 220 evenly putting half of it in the "$$$" range and crowding the limits you have to follow. The previous car had a more log scale at to top end.

insane:
TENKAN: The problem I think is in the fact that the Japanese speed is set to 180km and the English UK version is 260km, you would need to fit the UK faceplate which is what the needle is calibrated to at the moment.

It's already got the original Japanese faceplate though, that wasn't changed.

When I drove it to the dealer I used a GPS app on my phone, so confirmed that it was roughly reading Mp/h values at all speeds.

70mph when driving 100 on GPS
30mph when driving 50 on GPS

I wouldn't want to fit the UK face though, that compresses the range of the needle, and I don't think my wife is going to be driving 100mph + with the baby in the back to make full use of the dial :)

The Japanese market speedo is in kmh but looks similar to the 160 mph one.

Edit there are probably 3 Speedo faces, 260 kmh or 160 mph using one needle motor calibration and a 180 kmh JDM face using a different motor calibration.

Ah yes you're right, mine tops out at 180.

Should get it back this coming weekend so hopefully it'll be resolved. They probably just go to someone like http://www.hybrids.co.nz/japanese-to-english-dash-conversions/

That’s @RUKI ‘s business, I believe; he may have an idea of what the cause is?

Just an update to close this out. All sorted now, just needed the right software to be flashed to it.

Sounds like they didn't have to pull the speedo to bits and put a new Kmph overly on it..
