davidcole: Come on people, no one suggested cyber truck. I’m surprised you could all hold back.
Whoops just saw your price cap. It’s probably only worth about that. Bet it won’t be selling for that though.
I'd love one. Relies on a lotto win.

I beleive the ford equivalent is essentially the same vehicle just rebadged, but Mazdas tend to be cheaper.
Correct but from an aftersales POV, Mazda are great to deal with while Ford are well ... Ford.
Mazda do 0% Finance. Ford currently don't.

Quite a good in depth comparison here. https://www.motoring.com.au/best-dual-cab-4wd-ute-of-2019-117678/
Great article, thanks.

SheriffNZ: What’s the use case for an actual Ute? I have a Pajero Sport which I love. Ticks most of your boxes apart from being a Ute.
Update: In the interests of being thorough I checked out the Paj sport. I actually really liked it, but it is seriously short on headroom (yes I had the seat all the way down). I just could not drive one - and I'm only 6' or 183cm tall.
But then I sat in a 2020 Pajero Exceed. Really nice update on the old beast. So I ordered one ... arrives next week sometime.

It's pretty hard to go past a Pajero in value for money. It's a lot of truck for the cash and cheap to fix when things go wrong. I've been very happy with mine.
They've finished making them for the Japanese market so they probably won't be around too much longer.
I used to have an Exceed, I loved it. I sold it and I regret it.
WyleECoyoteNZ: What about a Holden Colorado?
Should be able to get a really good deal, and they're still going to have parts and service for 10 years.
3.5T towing.
Test drove it and didn't like it. TBH I've never been fan of Holdens. I've never been in one I enjoyed. Just personal taste. I know others love the things.

I know. They don't even have a hard copy brochure for them anymore.
Delivery is next week sometime. I had better clean the old beast.

Ride quality of the Pajero should be heaps better than most of the utes for your long commutes...
The likes of the Hilux ride is quite harsh when empty.
Update: Loving the new pajero. Arrived a week or so before lockdown. Especially love the heated seats as the mornings are starting to get chilly.
