MikeB4:

As of this morning the price range for 91 in Wellington area is $2.02 to $2.31. For 95 it is $2.14 to $2.40. Diesel is $1.33 to $1.59

Which shows how intense the competition is at a retail level for fuel in the market right now. Fuel is still being effectively sold at cost in some areas and cross subsidies are occuring across the country.

Looks like Z have moved by 4c this morning, but only on 91,

The margins on 95 has blown out all over the place, (Until a year or so ago (ie the Com com enquiry) it used to be about 9c/litre.. but its now its much bigger)

Oil companies continue to use the Theresa Gattung approach of confuse and deflect for pricing.

Someone only has to pass wind that might be mildly offensive in the middle east and there is an immediate price jump due to volatility in the market, but, when it goes the other way, there are always external factors outside the price of oil that influences petrol pricing at the pumps.

The margin on premium fuel has climbed to compensate for the 91 being sold at or below cost in some areas.

I was down in Southland on the weekend and was surprised to see Caltex Mataura had some of the cheapest petrol in all of Southland at 194.9 for 91 - now Z in Gore is showing 187.9 on Gaspy.

It's gonna take more than a few cents off the price of petrol to make up for the amount that my retirement funds have lost.🤑

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Anyone remember all the pundits saying back in 2008 when crude was nearly $150 per barrel that we would never see sub 100's for oil ever again.

Just goes to show you should never hang your hat on such statements.
