Jvipers2: Since you’re not into FM transmitters, guess the easiest way to get music in your car is a headphone or a Bluetooth speaker...

I have a 2006 Tiida with Carwings...they are awesome if you’re in Japan and uses a Docomo phone, here it looks good but is totally useless...glad my dealer changed the player but also removed the screen above it...I guess it’s a worthy trade off as now radio signals are correct, Bluetooth works, there’s USB and surprisingly both cameras still work

So you have the rear camera and the blindspot camera working on a non-Carwings stereo?

I wish we'd known it could be done a few years ago when we got our Tiida.

It is possible if you’re willing to pay for it...
Based on what the dealer updated, they got to get a new unit with at least 2 video input...
They messed up on the voltage as Japan imports run a different voltage for the camera so they changed both cameras...

At the end of the day, the video quality is much better compared to what came with the car, the only downside was that the reverse parking guide lines no longer follows the turn of the steering and the side kerb camera has guide lines...

A cheaper alternative is that you can hardwire the side kerb cam directly into the original screen and get a new player with reverse camera support...

butterfface:

I have a Japanese Nissan Tiida 2008, imported to New Zealand. Its all in Japanese, however I have successfully reached the point in which my phone is now connected to the car for both calling AND audio. I played a song on my phone, no sound came from the phone, indicating it was connected to the car and "playing". However, here I am stuck. There is TV, Aux, AM, FM and CD but there is no option where I can click and start streaming music from my phone. I am sooooo confused, What to click to let the music from my phone come through the car?

Help meh.

Keep pressing "Disc" it will eventually switch to bluetooth audio and will work great.
