joker97: btw ... am I missing something but there is no NZ day

You are missing that we have waitangi day which other than a few protestors is pretty much the same thing.

Australia Day celebrates patriotism.

NZ day is a day of friction, conflict and dissension. I don't see them as the same.

Its not the backing that seems to be the issue but the turning in conjunction and spatial awareness. We need a backing, turning and spatial awareness day

Im just saying that based on the pizza delivery people even reversing in a straight line is a skill that many people are lacking.

I confess I seldom back into parks these days due to disability and thankfully most mobility parks I don't need to. I used to be able to back very well especially the boat trailer but could not do it now. Thankfully my wife is a brilliant backer and driver in general.

Im either in the zone with the trailer and get it done pretty damn well on the first go, or else end up being like the blue corolla in the video. Its usually when at the tip that I have the bad backing eppisode and entertain all the tradesmen with my 20 point attempt at getting it close enough to the pit.

After seeing all that, I'm amazed that she managed to navigate the carpark exit in one go...

Bad form to dent a car and then just leave. Too bad he/she wasn't stopped and called out on it, not like he/she made a quick getaway.

BTW: Why "she"? We don't see the driver, do we?

So many amazing parts to this one. The mind boggles. Mind you, it was probably in the United States of Stupidity, so...

The silver BMW SUV was in Calgary.. my old hometown. She got a $115 ticket for "unsafe backing"

Heh, can relate to that .. the nearby boat ramp has a sharp dropoff from the asphalt to the ramp proper, and boat / trailer drops from view. Bit out of practice this year, and took me about 5 or 6 attempts to get the boat n trailer down the ramp in a reasonably straight line. Last year, I had it nailed, this year not so much ...

We need all children that have trikes to be issues trailers, this will give them the skills they need later in life.

Both myself and my sister were taught this way. We have no problems backing trailers or cars.

Personally if I am parking in a tight space I prefer to back in, There is almost no chance of scraping the side of your car if you use your mirrors. "Reversing cameras are the devil"

I was looking for a car park a number of years back around Christmas in the Manukau Warehouse car park and this person was trying to park a car (not even a big car) and they were having that much trouble they reversed right out to take another attempt so I drove straight into the car park and hopped out of the car and walked off
