BTW peeps Michelin PS3 is obsolete. (Has been for more than a year now).

It's now PS4. I'd recommend those for anyone wanting the best.

(Insert words that would get me banned here about that company), They are unethical have ripped off other businesses and change their business name every odd year and avoid paying for products and tax.

Actually Pilot Sport 4 replaced the SuperSport, not Pilot Sport 3.

I remember my father putting 4 new Continentals on his Mercedes CL600 V12 for about what I paid for one Continental in NZ for an Audi..!

Put Coopers on my Land Rover recently and paid about $500/corner. That's about $250 each more than the UK.

I just put four Michelin PS4 on my car when Beaurepaires were doing a buy 3 get the 4th free deal. Best decision I've made as the Pirelli's that were removed were one of the worst tyres I've used.

How much in total including installation and alignment?

All tyres age horribly. They naturally harden over time, and you also use up the softer rubber on the surface and get closer to the carcass and steel and all kinds of reinforcements.

So new tyres should always feel better everyhting else being equal. But yes new PS4 seem to be da bomb.

So I just got quotes from Tony's and Beaurepairs.

Despite asking for either GY AS3 or Michelin Pilot sport, Tony's were only able to offer the Potenza S001 in the size I wanted and came in at $400 per tyre.

Beaurepairs gave a high-level quote of $530 for the GoodYear Eagle F1 AS3 and $580 for the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S (Didn't have the standard 4) which is objectively epxensive but a good deal for these tyres and quite tempting.

They also recommended phoning in a few weeks ahead of planed purchase to negotiate/check current deals.

They were 395 each fitted and balanced (unusual tyre size). So it was ~1,200 with the 4th free.

I bought the car at 14 months old with 17,000km's on it. I put another 40,000km's before swapping out the Pirellis. Long wearing yes, but they were crap from the day I picked it up.

I have had great luck with TradeMe where people have upgraded their wheels on a new car and were flogging off the delivery mileage tyres (and sometimes rims).

This.

Last two sets of new Continental CrossContact's on the X5 have cost $800 and $700 fitted. Both sets from tyre companies after buyers have replaced stock wheels with bigger alloys.

A couple of months ago I picked up a set of brand new alloys for our Ford Focus, wrapped in brand new PS4's, for $600 :)

I have PS3's on my 535is and they are stunning tyres. I can't remember the price, I think it was $800 again from one of the places I bought the X5 tyres from.

So ive got a 09 Skoda Octavia wagon RS.

Ive had 3 different tyres on my car since owning it for 3 years now.

I had firestone and goodyears mixed when i got it. The goodyears were brand new and the firestones had about 35% left when i replaced the lot due to stupid amounts of road noise.

I went with Hankook S2 Nobles all round. Im incredibly happy with the result. Good traction in the dry and wet and fantastic for noise on the coarse chip open roads.

OP ive sent you a PM with a tyre shop to contact.
