I have one of those A119. Its been really good for the past year. I don't upload footage as im not one of those people..

Picked up a Viofo A119s V2 w/ GPS for NZ$98 in November.Keep an eye on OzBargain as it's usually on special around the US$65 mark.

I've got the Dashcam 55 and I must say I am quite impressed with the quality and some of the features (eg - speed cameras, notifying if the traffic starts moving in front of you, collusion detection). One of the poorly executed features is the voice command as I would often have it trigger with music or talking in the car. The built in WiFi is handy as I can just download footage straight to my phone.

Here is a video I've recorded today of an idiot tailgating people and aggressively lane switching to give you an indication on quality. Note, since I've turned off voice commands near the end you see me "save" the video but it is simple to do. Also gives you an indication of audio quality.

Tailgating is not on, but I have some empathy for the 'rusty truck' driver as the car in front of him should have moved into the left lane on completion of passing. I was in Spain last year and was amazed at how effectively this rule (in their case 'keep right') was observed by all drivers. Motorway driving there was a pleasure unlike the debacle of NZ motorways.

This turned out to be a useful thread!

I think I am going to bite the bullet and go hard - get the BlackVue 750S wired in professionally from https://drivercam.co.nz/.

Yes it is more expensive, but the camera quality on front and rear is excellent, the FOV is about perfect at 140, I like the smaller form factor without the screen and I like the idea of potentially being able to capture car-park miscreants who ding and dash...

Will update as and when!

My wife and I got rear-ended this past weekend, luckily we are both okay, but a fair bit of damage to the car (it's being checked over now). Luckily the driver admitted fault immediately, and to our insurance company. But I'll be getting a dash cam soon, with both front and rear cams.

***Update!***

So as above, I bought the BlackVue 750s 2ch unit. One of the most expensive units, but wanted something that would be robust, reliable, well supported and good quality.

I bought from drivercam.co.nz and got Alex (friendly, professional, excellent job!) to do the full install for me, including the hook up to the fuse box with a power controller so that:

1) I don't have trailing/exposed wires to internal 12v or through the car and more importantly

2) I can use the proximity activated park sensors to record front and rear when the car is parked without flattening the battery!

Will post some footage at some point, but overall very happy with my choice - image quality in day or night is great and since release, BlackVue have already released a few firmware upgrades in response to user feedback, including an "extreme" bitrate of 25Mb/s which offers a noticeable enhancement to the image quality.

Sorted.

A couple of samples from the 750s - bear in mind that despite my best efforts, YouTube still seems to lower the original bitrate from the 25mb so the raw quality and sharpness is better.

I also may need to adjust the front down a little to improve contrast in challenging light.

Yeah I can sort something out at some point!

It is not a night/day difference for sure - but there is an increased fidelity to be seen.

Wouldn't have helped me without side cameras, but Sounds like similar person when visiting dunedin who decided to open door on my 2013 rear quarter, not get it open other than dent the bumper/lip transition so bad the paint has flaked off and rusted, so reversed up and opened it on the boot and dented that too (paint left on both spots. Angle parking on typical dunedin hill)
