AA pre-purchase inspections are worthless unless you're concerned about a mark on upholstery or stone chips in the paint. The "AA appraised" inspection that car dealers like to stick on their stock is even worse than useless for the consumer but excellent value for the dealer.

 

The AA stopped being about supporting motorists a long time ago.

 

If you want a proper inspection that will tell you something worthwhile, take the vehicle to a trusted mechanic with experience on that make & model.

100% this. I was selling a car a few years ago that had some fault (can't remember exactly what) and the AA didn't pick up on it at all. (The buyer was of course aware)
