Recently I bought something from China that I wanted really quickly, so I paid the $80 DHL price. I got it in 3 days. So shipping delays aren't ubiquitous. It's not the consumer's fault that the big business's logistics can't manage that.

When I worked for a company selling parts (not car parts) , we could get parts into NZ from Asia with 2 days.
It can be done. We could do it when the Official NZ importer/agents could take up to 6 weeks for some unknown reason (bulk shipping only I bet).

Assuming the part is available of course . I dont believe there is zero stock anywhere in the world .
Its the same with the industry Im in now. Parts unavailable (backorder) from official sources can be bought elsewhere

None of this helps unfortunately .
And we are all assuming the part will fix the fault (1st repair didnt fix it)

I'm sure rockauto could get the part there within the week at a low cost. Anyway, if you push them for the rental car / loaner (which you are entitled to), they may realize that expediated shipping will work out cheaper than providing the rental / loaner and you may get your car fixed quicker.
