I should add that I would take the Dog & Lemon guide with a bigger grain of salt than the industry awards.

that applies to any car mag.

none of them have the balls to really criticise a car any more.

as for the hyundai - the new i30 may have improved but it still drives indifferently and the quality of design and materials is still second rate albeit build quality is good.

and the i30 proved a better drive than the hopeless veloster pseudo-sporty thing.

quite a few nz companies run vw product in their fleets, from golf cars to commercial vehicles, the brand does not appear over-represented for problems and reliability.
