rb99: Anyone mentioned Skoda Superb Station wagon yet ?

Actually the Skoda Octavia VRS TDI could be a serious contender, Euro Build Quality, nice goodies, big boot, safe - high NCAP rating and awesome fuel economy - just need to check it can fit a booster in the middle....

I don't want no sugar in it - thank you very much

Ford territory - we've just got one partly cos the width means we get three kids in the middle row (one car seat + two boosters)

Of more concern is whether it meets it's stated emissions.

The Honda FR-V, also known as the Honda Edix in Japan, was a compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) produced by the Japanese manufacturer Honda from 2004 to 2009, and marketed until 2011. It has six seats and, alongside the Fiat Multipla, it once was one of only two compact minivans with a 3+3 seating configuration offered on the European market.

The Honda FR-V allows folding down the front middle seat to create a tray or arm rest. The compact MPV offers around 32 different seating combinations, three ISOFIX points and lots of cabin and load space.

You didn't say what year Mazda MPV you have?

When we bought it our kids were 6 months, 3 and 6.

We just came from a Toyota Highlander (older 7 seat version) in Australia and had the same issues with buckling up in rear seat and then getting 3 seats across the middle row as back back seats had no anchor points.
One option was the Holden/Falcon route but really hate clipping and unclipping seat belts across back row with 2 car seats and a booster. All it takes is 1 or 2 times in the rain with your 6 year old accidentally unclipping the seatbelt holding in a car seat and having to fix it with water running down your back to detract from having all 3 together.

Based on the highlander experience, we ruled out having the half sized rear seats as getting kids in and out was tough, easier to pass them in through the boot as car seats were permanently mounted in middle row. A wagon wasn't really an option as we cart around my mother and kids frequently and really need 7 seats.

The options we gave ourselves (4 years ago) were a Mazda MPV 2006+ 23C (big difference from the pre 2006) or a Toyota Previa (eww mini van) which everyone I know that has one hates it but would never get rid of it if that makes sense?

We got an 2006 MPV - Fitted the bill then and still does now with my kids 5,7, and 10.
Love the sliding door as the kids can't throw the doors open into other parked cars, and you can open and close to drop them off at school without getting out :)
Although its sold as an 8 seater, think of it as having 6 adult seats, we put car seats into each of the middle seats and the booster in the back when needed as any kid in a booster should be able to do their own seatbelt.
Its a bit gutless, but not too bad as its also economical and has Mazda 6 engine (no cam belt) but ours only a 4 speed auto (6 spd auto in 2010+ ?)
Its also a great wagon to drive to events with a few friends e.g. 3 couples

A few of my friends have a Dodge Journey 7 seater and love them?

Probably look at moving to an XC90 or a nice wagon e.g. Audi S6 in next few years once there are no more seats to worry about.
