I think it may be the second least fuel efficient BMW. After the E60 M5!

I also have a 300 HP ICE, 400Nm, but only 1500kgs :)

I can tell you the faster it goes, the closer it approaches 7L/100kms. *shrugs shoulders* no idea how it does it

Ah yes, statistics are like a bikini - what they reveal is interesting but what they hide is critical.

1) There are more places to charge an EV in S.A. than there are gas stations because you can charge EV's from a standard 3 pin plug and most EV's are charged this way, overnight at home.

Just thought I'd dig this up to show someone the news... Adelaides first public car charging point opened today....

Took it to the Barossa through the hills and out on the freeway (110kph) back over the weekend.

12L/100km isn't too bad for a 2.1T vehicle considering the drive through the hills (winding 80k zones).

Mine will probably do better, we had Wellington-style head winds last weekend. Going through Chain-Of-Ponds  area wrecks fuel economy too..

I'm stoked with 12 considering what I get around town.

You don't buy a 12yo V8 X5 for fuel economy. :D

i woke up this morning to find that my Mrs had decided to take my Land Rover over the Rimutakas, stranding it there until Friday due to her work patterns, and decided that was the best drive she could come up with to use the car for the first time ever.

I've never been so close to ringing a divorce lawyer.

Depends on what other cars you have access to. Maybe that's the result of faithful application of my unorthodox counselling tips?

We have three cars.

Today, I had not a one of them at home, because 'Er Indoors had managed to get two in the Hutt Valley and one at Featherston station....

I was given an allegedly logical explanation for that. I have to say that logic was not a word I would have applied in connection with it.....
