networkn:
I have a 2011 Touring for sale if anyone is interested! :)
mudguard:blakamin:Item:joker97: Umm .. Budget
Edit ok maybe not today but I've seen them for under 20k
I came this close -> to buying a second-hand 2003 S8 when I was living in Dubai - wanted one ever since the movie Ronin.
In the end I plumped for the ubiquitous 4x4 instead. Still regret it.
HAHA... I can't watch Ronin without wanting an E34 M5!
In fact, That's probably one car I'd sell my 740 for.
Plenty of non M 5 series in Ronin. Have a look at the gauges and the steering wheel next time you watch it.

blakamin: I'm totally biased... get a 540i!
There's NOTHING like the intake roar of the V8 when you nail it... and watch the tacho hit 6500 in a heartbeat (and the traction control light up on a dry road at 60)
In usual BMW style, the "factory kilowatts" was basically a minimum... There's been many a new V8 SS (and one R8) commodore that's been embarrassed by my 20 year old 7 series (in a closed environment aka drag strip).

lchiu7: but more alarming was, the fuel economy meter disappearing off the gauge to the right! With a lead foot this is going to be an expensive car to run.
joker97: 16? That's normal for a V8. Unless you have an RS6 ... apparently under 10 for that monster of a car.

Good luck having the willpower to keep it anywhere NEAR 10 :P

Hahaha... all BMWs do that.. I had a 520 e34 that did it too. I ignore and go by the OBC.

Just getting a handle on the OBC. Is that the fuel economy display rather than the gauge?
I did notice one thing. The car doesn't seem to want to get out of 2nd gear until hit 50 which means it seems to be revving a bit higher than required.
A local dealer told me (I have no idea if it's right or wrong) the car "learn" your driving mode and adjust gear changes accordingly. That seems pretty sophisticated for a 20 year old car.

blakamin:
The gauge is an instant reaction thing I'm sure BMW put there to fill in cluster space... the OBC tells it like it is... Mine is currently on 12.6ltrs/100kms. I daily it to work 40kms eacxh way through the adelaide hills, have a lead foot and my car is a fair bit heavier than yours (1995 7 series) ...
What year is yours?
It should have the same auto as mine, and it is adaptive. Mine is amazing, it's like it knows the roads and when to change down. Sport mode is even more fun!
