Just checked it.  It says RON 91+.  Also has E5 and E10 (that's the allowed ethanol content I think)

So it's still a mystery why the manual, the fuel flap and Kia Aus say 91 is OK, whereas Kia NZ are saying use 95 or above

It's also strange that most cars in UK have a 10,000 mile service interval, and here, 10,000 or 12,000 km is common

I put my own sticker over the Kia Label saying '95+'.

Taking my sticker off, the Kia Label is difficult to read at the top, but I tend to think it says 91+.

So what are you going to put into your Kia?

91

Alternate between 91 and 95

95

98

I specifically went Japanese for all my cars and have only ever put 91 in them.

The next car (this year, in 5 years?) will be electric so I don't have to worry about putting dead animals into the car; I just have to worry about being able to afford rent on the house and the cost of electricity.

Check the fuel flap

My NZ New Hyundai (Czech state manufacturing plant, similar shop as Kia) had an official looking RON usage sticker in it.

It's weird that a lot of local dealers, service people etc think they know better than the car manufacturer's engineering team when it comes to fuel grade. If the car was engineered to run 95 or above, The engineers would have put that in the manual and on the fuel flap sticker...

Seems silly to run it on anything but 91, that’s what I’ll do and see how it goes

I'm noticing fuel prices are still creeping north, even with a Gull or Waitomo near by. The Z on Hutt Road (Lower Hutt) had 91 for $2.17 when I last drove past it
