91 fuel does not have a long shelf life. It is often the cause of ... the boat that has not been winterised not starting at the ramp, although you should have fired it up way before you took out on its first post winter blast, the busy Saturday ramp is an embarrassing place for your pride and joy to get petrol flu.
Winterising ... pffft. Boat runs all year - some of the best fishing is in winter if you know where to go and no need to get up early.
If it's been more than two weeks I give the tanks a top up with some new fuel and no-problem.
I also flush the fuel line back into the tank if I haven't used the boat in the last few days. I find this makes a huge difference to start up times. I'm running carburetted two strokes.
