Good buy for anyone after some reasonably decent on ear NFC headphones. These are $250 from Sony NZ. so $51 + $30 postage is a good deal. I ordered a pair during Chinese New Year and they just arrived today. Rated at 40hrs+ battery life.

So that means no CGA protection either, which if you buy from sony you will get.

What does "Spend less than NZ$400 with us Today and Score a GST Free Buy" mean...

They are not a NZ company so they can't charge GST anyway..

I presume they are talking about the GST/Duty and IETF involved when you import stuff from the overseas (That customs charges).. but how can they promise this?

Well probably shows they are not paying tax in NZ for a start, and guess they are not collecting it either. I really wish nz domains couldn't be used by totally overseas operated companies, they should be reserved for real NZ businesses, as a point of diffference. eg in Oz, their domains are only for Ozzie companies.

Looking on Ebay, you can buy these for around $65 NZ including shipping from the UK, so this isn't a deal if you have to pay $30 shipping.
Also several hong kong traders selling them for $80 with free shipping, which strangely works out to be the same.

No it is not an NZ company - they list which parts of the world are their offices located and there is nothing for NZ - so what?

$30 is standard shipping fee for this sized parcel from Hong Kong - you'll find a lot of places like mobilestation.co.nz charging the same

No there isn't CGA, but then the cost is a fraction of what you pay here, so yes you have the option - pay NZ prices and get CGA, or pay a fraction of the price and take the risk. For the cost savings some people may take the risk. And though there isn't CGA it doesn't mean it has no warranty at all.

They can claim no GST because the type of items they sell don't incur duty or GST when they come through customs if valued under $400 - mobicity.co.nz (an Aussie company) makes similar claims http://www.mobicity.co.nz/about/payment.html

I agree with Mattwnz about the NZ domains, wish they were only for NZ, but if this site was .co.uk I still would've posted it. Though I wouldn't have posted if I knew it was $65 including shipping else where. I have used expansys a bit and know they aren't a fly-by-night type of company so thats why I posted it.

It's good for people to provide feedback from other traders as to whether a deal is a good one or not. As something that may first look like a good deal, may not be any different to what you can normally get it for if you shop around. For anything like this which comes from an overseas seller, and which doesn't have CGA protection, it really doesn't matter where it comes from, as long as it is genuine, as there essentially isn't any aftersales service. If the trader is bad, it isn't delivered, or it is fake or defective, you then have paypal charge back protection. To deal with warranty within a 12 month period, it would cost more to send it back, so essentially it wouldn't have any warranty or CGA protection.
What is interesting is that often sellers from Hong Kong have free international shipping. So if they are also in Hong Kong, it makes you wonder why their shipping is $30, or are the Hong Kong sellers on ebay adding that cost to their list price of the product. Maybe the other international stores see that others charge $30, so they charge it too. But looks like the normal price overseas for these is around the $50-80. Not sure why they are so much in NZ, probably they charge that because they can, and they probably sell far fewer in NZ.

I've bought from expansys several times, had a return once and they eventually replaced with new item at no cost to me (other than taking my defective product to their nominated courier depot So I could sign the customs declaration).

They are a reputable company run out of HK with various storefronts ie uk nz etc.

Was that DOA or within the warranty period. Certainly this is a good deal if they cover all those cost within the normal warranty period, as at least that does give some protection. Often if something like this fails, it will fail within the first 12 months.

The touch screen on my Sony SmartWatch went glitchy after about 3 months. It did take a little determination on my part but they eventually took me seriously and replaced it after a month or so. The replacement has been rock solid for around a year now. I'd recommend expansys even with $30 postage!

Sony mdr10bt rrp 299 often on special for 149 from Sony or Noel lemming. I can recommend this. If wanting to spend for sony mdr1btmk2 is better. Don't get earlier version bc no aptx.
