Hi, Im thinking of getting one of these:

cant find them cheaper anywhere, just not sure if its too risky as if its DoA it quite expensive for return shipping.

Have you calculated the total cost? I bet it's not much cheaper than getting new here

yeah it comes to 1620, they only sell the next model up here and its 2800 but its an i7 with ssd and larger battery

Still cheaper with the import / customs fees? Posting back to the USA can be done for a moderate price with mail.

Not of its got a battery it can't. Anything battery and they make you courier at stupid prices.

Not worth it. I got a slightly better spec one (6700HQ, 16GB RAM, 6-cell battery, but only a 512GB SSD instead of a 1TB one) for $1800 direct from Dell.

Too expensive for a refurbished unit - after shipping, duties, and GST.

It's a very good netbook.

Buy locally.

In relation to XPS units, I can tell you that most of them have what is called "coil whine". It is an electrical-sounding buzz that you just can't get rid of. Google the words and you will see there is plenty of complaints. It seems to be a characteristic of Dell, sadly.

I have not experienced that on my 2016 Dell

^It really depends on the person. Some may not hear it until you point it out, or some may not hear it at all (the lucky ones!).

Anyway, a quick google search will yield plenty of complaints in this area. Just something to consider, that is all.

My xps15 doesn't do this.

My Church has a Dell XPS not to sure the model version but it's fantastic and powerful, although looking at the specs in the link, the one we has much higher specs
