timmmay: Those chargers are great for making toast out of batteries.

Eneloops are Just another average batt now. Now longer even a Sanyo. And far far too many faked eneloops out out there, I would never buy one, you dont really now what you are actually getting, real or fake.

Overnight chargers,pfft.
Just as well you get 8 batts , as trickle chargers can kill em

accupower iq-328 seems to come from the same OEM as the other chargers, but it will do 1400mA into 2 slots as well as 1000 into all 4 of them which is a nice option to have when you need to get things full in a hurry. Can get it with an AU adapter from an american seller on ebay when I last needed another one.

It's an interesting thought, but all my high current needs need four batteries. The Le Crosse chargers can also do high current with two batteries.

Dont try & fast charge LSD/'ready to use' batts
You will ruin them . Charge them at around, say, 1/2A . Or a bit lower.

Of course charging at too low an A can also be bad, as the charger may not correctly detect the cuttoff point (dt or dv)
And dont trust charges claimed ability to auto cutoff charge if the batt gets too hot, learn the hard way , burnt fingers. :-)

I have one of those, would not buy another. Only advantage is you can choose charge rate & watch the numbers roll buy on the LCD. It can cook
nimh's on the 1A rate, they can get quite hot.
It also pushes the charge right to the absolute limit, that isnt good for the batt .

I now usually just use my DSE(Varta/GP) charger, which is just as good , except on old AAA's

Second that Timmay! Stoked with my Maha. Spent ages researching so hope this saves someone the time. Great chargers.

You can mess around with the lower rates to get a bit more life out of your cells, or if you want them now you dont worry about that.

I really dont care if I only get 400 or so cycles out of the cells. By that point they are well paid for themselves and not having to sit around waiting for them to charge means that I can be doing something more interesting with my time.

If I could charge them in a minuite but only get 50 cycles out of them, I would probably do that if possible.

You can prise my C9000 out my cold, dead hands.

That said, I also have a Sanyo NC-MQR06W (Individual cell charging, proper cutoff) for travel.

But for the batteries themselves, that's not a bad price. Just make sure you throw the charger in the bin.
