Like most sequels, it seems that Friday the Thirteenth Part 2 is only a shadow of the original. I guess the next excuse for specials will be stocktaking, then Easter, then ANZAC Day, then Queen's Birthday, then...........

Pirran: Does anyone know the approximate cost of over-sized delivery on mattresses from The Warehouse? I can see a $100 queen mattress for Black Friday and I am in dire need of one that doesn't have a massive broken spring in it. I'm guessing delivery would be about $20? The site says it's measured by the size but doesn't specify.

Ummm delivery fee is like $99 (just added it to my cart to have a look).

Aiee, that is ridiculous!

Given someone has to buy a truck, maintain a truck, have two people load a mattress onto a truck, spend time driving to and from the address with two people, then upload the mattress, $99 isn't so bad. You could collect it yourself.

Be careful with the Warehouse online ordering when selecting pick up in store instead of delivery. They tend to charge the same price for pickup as they do to deliver. So don't buy online if you want to save money on delivery, just go to your closest shop to buy.

My extremely pregnant daughter recently purchased a king-size mattress and paid a substantial delivery fee.
The truck arrived (2 hours late) with one driver - who expected her to help him carry the mattress up 2 flights of stairs.
She wisely refused.
It was re-delivered 2 days later by Two Strong Men, who had difficulty getting it up the stairs.

So that's probably 5-10% discount. Apple products have very slim margins for the retailer.

Comparing iPad Air 2 Wifi - 16GB
Heathcote vs WHS - I doubt there is any sale.

even with that discount, for the couple of items I bothered to check (mobo, CPU), still more expensive than many other shops...

Pricespy is s useful website to check prices, to make sure deals are real deals. Percentages off on the surface may look liek you are getting good value, but many stores use % discounts these days as a form of price rotation, so their normal price maybe quite a bit more than the normal price of other retailers who don't do this.
