YouShop can be eye-wateringly expensive if the item is not packaged appropriately.

This!!!

You are literally screwed if the supplier does that big box with a plastic bubble packer in it etc.  Literally.

I got some snow boots shipped, and they must have shipped them heel to heel or simiular, as I got this in my youshop account

When they arrived at my place, they were in the original retail box, so Youshop must have opened the outer package and repacked.

Wow that's great. Did they do that without any request or intervention from you?

I wish they did that for me last time I paid $$$ to ship a box of mostly air to NZ!

I need some snow boots - where did you buy from?

No intervention from me, but they charged me $4.50 NZD to repack.

Ordered from Amazon, shop called backcountry.

I got some Kamik Warrior 2 for $50 USD, but they seem to be full price now. You can buy from backcountry.com for free shipping to youshop. Total delivery was $34.50 NZD. (as an aside, boots are comfy and warm, little heavy, but ready for my Lapland adventure near the end of the year)

On topic: Now I wait for the warehouse to receive my google home & chromecast to see what the cost will be.

Mine is on it's way to YouShop, will update on the price for shipping once they let me know. Cost for the bundle with free shipping ended up at $143 for me. Looking forward to having a play

@mAYH3M Please in future use a real image host as ones without HTTPS won't work on Geekzone. You'll note an "upload images" button right below the reply field you can use. I've fixed it now.

Anyway, my YouShop shipment was a touch more expensive:

You guys selected the 5-9 days shipping which was $10 expensive in my case.

Mine got shipped today, so the expensive one might not be the fastest.

I selected the $26.50 shipping as well... From the screenshots the sizes and weights are mostly consistent except for Soolaroo who despite the weight being the same, had a larger box arrive at youshop.

Cheers - N

Still waiting for mine to arrive at YouShop, hopefully in a small box..

I see Google home is selling in Aussie from Thursday for 199. English Australia is going to be an option also, meaning you can ask it to throw a shrimp on the barbie, ask about Maccas, the servo, or brekky

So would shipping the Google Home from Australia now be a better option? Or buying it when there for a holiday and claiming the tax back?

It seems the price has gone up on this offer, so option 2 might be reasonable. At $99USD + expenses it's going to work out at around $170NZD which is significantly cheaper than $199AUD + shipping.

But if you take shipping out of the equation, and minus tax, it probably comes out as a good option vs the current eBay price

Also it will have a AU/NZ power plug included.

I also notice dicksmiths.co.nz has them but they look like they are from the US/UK but will ship with a "AU/NZ Complaint Generic Adaptor" Price to get it to NZ etc $199
