Yes - it works on cellphones - a particular benefit where typing passwords is harder but with LastPass it will use your fingerprint!

I'm using the free version and it works on my phone and chrome on the desktop. Doesn't look like there's much benefits for premium these days

^ This.

unfortunately I realised I was using the free version after buying 2 years worth of subs. Doh! smile

I used to be a lastpass premium subscriber but I guess I never realised I was using the free version after my sub had expired.

Maybe that's new, I seem to recall it didn't used to...

Does fingerprint authentication work too?

Yes works exactly like it used to when I had premium. Fingerprint + app pwd prompts etc

EDIT: I've even got MFA on the free version...

In that case it seems there's nothing important to me missing from the free version! (Apart from being ad-free... which isn't super important to me)

No I don't see any ads on mine. I still have it on free version. Haven't punched in the codes yet....

I created a post a year or so back here on GZ, asking exactly this question - benefits of a paid sub over the free app, and in the end I decided not to renew my sub and see what happened. The outcome was not a single loss of functionality in making the move.

As others have said, the free app never worked on mobile devices, and I imagine many clients that pay continue to so so not knowing the free version will suffice for most.

Personally, if I were to pay, I’d not be doing so for the supposedly increased functionality but more as support of the product.

Yes exactly. It's been a great product and I don't mind paying $12 for a 2 year subscription.

Best feature that I would like to use is the yubikey feature. That is premium only.

For me, the benefit is in being able to share a folder of items instead of only one item at a time.

Scotdownunder: I have an existing Premium subscription and have received the order ID.  How do you. add this the the existing subscription.  ...

Login to HumbleBundle -> Account -> Keys -> Click LastPass Premium link under 'LastPass Premium - 1 Year Subscription' and step through the process.

Scotdownunder: ... Would I have to cancel my auto renewal first - seems logical otherwise there would be a double payment.

During the redemption period, they do state this: Please Note: If you originally signed up for a LastPass subscription, you should cancel it (just the recurring part) so LastPass doesn't automatically recharge your account in one year.

First time I've managed to get a discount on my LastPass subscription in more than ten years as a Premium user.

kryptonjohn:

I just looked at my LastPass sales history - it used to be US$12 per year until last year when it attracted $1.20 tax then this year it jumped to $$24 plus tax!

Anyway, I bought this deal, and it doesn't show on the LastPass sales history. Is there a delay?

Cheers

John

That's what LogMeIn does with products it buys. Wouldn't be surprised if next year it increases to $48.
