Seagate 8tb harddrive for $129USD, comes to $217NZD inc shipping.

This might be the cheapest price ever for this drive? Buying locally is around $400NZD, so a big saving.
You can remove the internal drive too, standard sata connector. But, I've found sustained write speeds start at around 150MB/s, but that drops significantly after a while to around 40MB/s. Read speeds are always fast.
Do you know if they come with a NZ power plug clip on? I know some Seagate drives do, or at least used to.

My September ordered ones did not, yet other people have had one with it in there. Was schucking them anyway so didnt bother me either way.
kobiak:https://home.zoolz.com/1tb-lifetime-holiday-offer/ ~$50 NZD
cheap as chups. not the best speeds from reviews, but hey $50 lifetime.
NewEgg also has the 8TB Seagate for US$130. Their shipping is a little more (US$8 more for the cheapest option) but they currently have a NZ$30 off NZ$75 coupon newegg2018nzl. It's single use valid until midnight 25 November PST so might want to check you don't want anything else. The 2TB 660p is out of stock but the 512GB one is still in stock and there's also a MX500 SATA for US$62.50 and they're having a bunch of RAM cheap.

A slight aside here - with shucking these drives, are they suitable for a NAS, or not really?
Amazon just dropped there Crucial MX500 2TB drives waaay down, like $141.01 USD price drop. $329 inc shipping for 24 hours.
These drives go for $631 at PB, so like half price at Amazon.

I'm using storage spaces in an esata box. Performance is terrible but it holds stuff and is cheap. I think its the esata multipliers not playing nice with storage spaces rather than the drives, but across 4 of them in a parity space I am lucky to see 20 megs a second write speeds. Its just in there till I can get a nicer case and rearrange things which is a time and money constrained process.
When I was using one as a single drive it was OK for holding videos and editing from.
