Hi guys,

Got a slightly related question... My work offers us the Office suite on the cheap via the Home Use Program. I'm looking to take advantage of this but I'm wondering what happens if I change jobs? It looks like I have to link my work email address to it, so I'm assuming I'll get locked out if I leave. (Or would I be able to change the linked email address to my personal one and use it until my subscription runs out?). I looked on the website but couldn't see anything that obviously answered my question.

thanks

My employer used to offer the HUP but this was dropped when we introduced Office 365.

The deal is now each Office 365 login comes with 5 licenses and you are allowed to use them at home, however the catch is you don't get the Personal 1TB Onedrive.

When you change jobs you need to uninstall it .
For gods sake its only $20(?) or so , when it stops working it stops working. You'd have got your monies worth.

Chances are it will keep working (and has on some PC's Ive seen) , unless ......just so many variables :-)

I think this is how it works for us now too. I would have preferred Office 2019 as a package but they don't seem to offer that anymore with the HUP

Tbh, I'm more worried about my files than I am about the cost (although it's a definite positive)

Your Docs etc wont be effected regardless , unless stored in your Employers Cloud storage

Of course you're doing backups regardless :-)

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Use Open Source and you are beholden to no-one.

LibreOffice is still available- only $0.00, while stocks last!
