It does have a YouTube app and you can authenticate that with your account so you can search on a tablet or laptop and play on the Amazon device.

This is why I stuck with my Roku 3 and Chromecast. Combined with Unotelly, we have:

2 smart TVs set to NZ (for local on-demand apps)
2 Apple TVs set to the US (for renting videos and some on-demand free stuff like PBS)
1 Roku 3 for the lounge, set to the UK (for BBC iPlayer, ITV, 4OD, BBC Sport)
2 Chromecasts for using our machines' browsers for bits and bobs all over the world (iView ABC from Oz, TG4/RTÉ from Ireland, Canadian channels)

I've just ordered a Roku stick for our bedroom TV. I think we'll be all sorted then!  foot-in-mouth

Looked at reviews and the specs of FireTV/Fire stick versus Roku and Chromecast and decided another Roku (which will also be attached to our UK Roku account so we get the UK apps) made more sense than the Fire.

DesJames: Hi, I'm new to the world of chromecast vs firestick. I have had an apple tv for a few years and installed plex on it which I loved for viewing my films. Now that plex doesn't work I'm looking for an alternative. I also like the idea of being able to watch stuff on the BBC iplayer.
My question is to those in the know is can I install plex on the firestick easily and can I get the BBC iplayer onto it.
I like the idea that the firestick has a remote where as chromecast doesn't.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
