Somebody else is importing these, or manufacturing them. I have found them onsale for an insane 34 bucks a piece on the vodafone site. I see a great deal of people selling these wall adapters.
Because I don't import, or manufacturer them, I am not 'the supplier' according to that law. That's how I read it. Makes sense, why would multiple people get multiple certifications over and over? One testing and cert of the product should be plenty. It's logical to me anyway.
I am pretty sure these come under 'c-tick' but I don't have on in front of me. But they are common as in new zealand.

In that case, you are fine and way way better than probably 99% of the trademe sellers. Just get your NZ wholesaler to send you the SDoC for your file in case anybody asks for it.

I am totally confident they will have one, but maybe it might be useful to have a copy of the doco. I'll look into it. Cheers for bringing my attention to the technicalities.
And yeah, I know that this is an issue with people who decide to just import and sell electrical goods. Not too cool. I have seen those adapters spark. Not good at all.
Hence why I spent a bit of time, not only looking for a NZ specific power adapter, but one that was robust.

I can confirm that these work with the HP Stream 7 (and presumably the 8). Doesn't show as charging in Windows, but it powers and charges the tablet. Slowly. But then every charger I've used with this thing has inexplicably taken forever to charge it. Works with or without additional peripherals plugged into the hub (I was using a USB NIC - 100Mbit sure beats the broken wifi this thing has).

My experience so far with another tablet is that the charging hub requires a lot of juice to charge. With what I have tried so far, definitely prolongs battery life a lot, but to get it to actually charge properly I suspect you need about 5.3 volts and 2.5 amps or so. It probably helps if you are HDMI outputting quite a lot rather than displaying on the screen, and if bluetooth is off, which would work well if using as a desktop.
A very very handy thing no doubt, something I would never do without now, but worth keeping all this in mind.
