ahh that's good, its the dumbed down ones i hate. Especially when you can't disable unused stuff or change default hdd priorities etc.
Wifi's upgradable (no bios issue), that's good to know.

These look good. Thanks for the report.
Pity a win 10 licence costs $180ish!

Here's a review of pretty much the same units as I bought, in Spanish, but Chrome does a pretty good job of translating (motherboard and BIOS is the same, but it comes from another Chinese supplier).
Some good photos there too. http://www.adslzone.net/postt413438.html

How does it handle x265 video on Kodi?
Just for you, I downloaded some 4K x265 samples and checked for quality and percentage of processor activity. Of course this varied by bit rate etc. This was using the Intel HD5500 graphics driver dated 22/4/16.
On average, using Windows Media Player playback was very smooth with approx 4-10% processor activity. In Kodi it rose to approx 25-40% so the codec wasn't anywhere near as efficient it seems. Playback was smooth and looked fine.
The only marginal result I saw was playing the 4K BigBuckBunny_2000hevc.mp4 clip that has a hell of a lot happening at once. In Kodi, processor activity came close to 90% whereas WMP rose to around 35%.

Nice one, cheers for having a look into that.
That's a pretty big difference in performance between Kodi and WMP but still awesome to know it can definitely handle it.
Cheers
Please let me know if your one has a SATA power socket.
That scum-sucking and dishonest seller, "Shenzhen Helor Cloud" who I bought my two from, after offering $10 compensation for the missing SATA pwr socket, which I rejected, has now removed that offer and now claims that "This new model cannot use a standard SATA drive" and can only be used with an mSATA drive. He did this one day before my dispute has gone to arbitration, and that's what Aliexpress will see. Funny how one of them did have a socket and both came with SATA data and pwr cables. If anyone's interested in getting one of these, I'd recommend one of the other sellers, e.g. this one: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/1608019
