You know what? I called Noel Leeming to make sure. Apparently any order after 0903 is not valid and won’t receive additional handset. What a cock up. I was nice to them and apparently they are building a spreadsheet as they know there were issues with the online sale and may honour some orders on Monday. Will see... I told them that if I am not getting two phones then I will cancel and get a refund.

@michaelmurphy I'd expect to be seeing them in TM for pretty much half the price they were purchased for, so in theory, you could buy 2 of those and be no worse off?

I certainly wouldn't be looking to buy them for much more if any more than half the advertised price.

With a doubt Noel Leeming is the dodgiest retailer in NZ. I'd never give them a cent of my money with all the crap they get up to.

I hope those who missed out are lodging claims with the Commerce Commission for bait advertising!

Does the CGA and warranty still apply to phones bought off TradeMe?

It looks like they've gone and cleared all carts. The S10+ in my cart has now disappeared after over four hours.

I went the old fashioned way and took my son to the local store to line up.  Got there 1 hour before opening. Very well organised. They had a LOT more than was showing on their website. Only had white for the free one but that's OK. Missed out on a plus by a couple of people, but got an S10. They handed out about 20 numbers to those in the cue which I guess means they had 20 available in total.

Not sure which one my son is keeping.  Both are still sealed so if anyone wants to make an offer....

Otherwise I imagine it will be on Marketplace and TM soon enough.

Our local only had '6 tokens' which were handed out before 9am.

Local store had 7 or 8 available and were handing out tickets pre opening. All tickets were gone around 15 mind before opening. I got an S10 but could have gotten a plus if I had wanted. Glad I went to the store rather than try my luck online.

I was a legitimate buyer with no intention to resell, and was poised to buy at 09:00, but got error 520, and error 500, then at 9:02 got the following...

I also went to my local branch that was showing 3 in stock at the point I walked in the door, with no other customers looking at phones, and was told they had sold out nationwide.

Don't know how feasible this may be but for online sales maybe retailers should look to stagger their sale volume throughout the day.

So release 100 units at 9am, then another 100 at a random time and so on.

Just gives those who aren't available at 9am a chance to try later that day.

So the way this worked was based on the number of promo free phones there were left in each store, not available ‘regular’ stock to buy. Lines of 20+ ppl were already in front of doors at 8am at my local.

So was I, although I only wanted one, but the online system made it almost impossible to purchase when they released them. Supposeldyly there were 800, but don't know if that was all units, or just the 'free' ones.  Guessing too many people online at the same time.  I think if they had actually made them half price instead, and one per person, it would have been fairer, and NL would should still have received the same amount of money from the sales.. Nobody probably wants two phones for themselves, so if you did buy two, you would have to sell one, or shared the purchase with someone else so you go halves. Maybe that is partly the reason why there are so many on trademe for sale now, as people get rid of the second one. But I would have been happy to sell the second one at $750, so I effectively get the phone half price. Many people selling on TM seem to be selling for a fairly decent profit. I suspect some will be selling both, and probably expect to make at least $250 profit on each, which is a good $500. I wonder how may people will be paying tax on the profit they make.

Looking at my bank account; Noel Leeming just refunded my money and didn't even bother to go through their 'spreadsheet' on Monday. Very unhappy how this panned out. :(

Sounds a lot like the debacle with Warehouse Stationery and the LG G Watch R a few years ago.

Trademe is drowning in s10s. Some of the sellers are rather optimistic wanting 12, 1300 or more.
There is obviously a few rather upset people about missing out, some of the comments being left on a lot of the auctions made for a humorous evening read.
