Hi,

I have my BB and power with Mercury. The only thing holding me back on switching my mobile over is that my phone is eSIM only.

Is there anyone from Mercury on here that might be able to tell me when eSIM will be available for new customers?

Cheers,

GM.

How could eSIM hold you back? I guess the only reason is if you have a iPhone with out a SIM card slot

Hi,

I can confirm this is on our roadmap, however there are a few significant system changes required before we can fully support it so there is no set timeline at this stage.

We do support switching to eSIM for existing customers using eSIM only devices, such as the iPhone 17 Air, international iPhone models, Pixel 10, and similar devices.

We are planning to expand this functionality to all existing customers, regardless of device type, later this year.

Unfortunately, due to current system limitations, new signups are still required to receive a physical SIM for the time being.

Thanks,

Tane

So a new customer could receive a SIM card, then do an immediate swap to eSIM?
Without having to install said SIM into a device?

Once their service is provisioned and assuming they have an eSIM only device - Yes, the front line team can request the swap to eSIM.

Noting depending on the time of day, they cannot guarantee this can be done straight away as there is a dedicated team that handle these requests, so I would not recommended to use this as a workaround to skip the sign up restrictions.
