Most impressed with Wimbledon on Prime and Duke. The quality of the video is really excellent.

evilengineer:So they aren't showing England vs Sweden??!!??!!
iPlayer it is, then.
The Beeb is warning of latency delays for streaming the Cup. Up to 45% of viewership by mobile.
Imagine your neighbours celebrating while you're still waiting on the penalty kick to be placed......

Well, you wouldn't know who they're celebrating for, so that's fine?
Interesting hypothetical given the other World Cup next year.
If the Fifa World Cup had been streaming only and cost $100 for the tournament, how many would have paid the $100 for it?

2nd Semi- Final is live on Prime
Common sense is not as common as you think.

Both semis and the final, live on Prime. Doubtful the RWC19 will have the same.

Sad but true. The English fans will be unbearable in defeat for the next week. Imagine how unbearable they would have been if they won the cup - other countries fans rarely mention that they hold the cup, but....

I am amazed at how soccer = diving.
Basically, instead of trying to create shots at goal, 99% of the time they are falling over every time the opponent gets within 1m of them. Goals are more accidental than intentional. Lots of own goals too (most of them are credited to the attacker for some reason).
Netball has more physical contact than soccer.
France is amazing at diving, they milked so many free kicks and yellow cards vs Belgium.
The way it goes, on paper, France should be the diving champions come Monday morning.

That was a headline in the Herald a few weeks ago. welcome to the world diving championship or some such.
And then you get #neymar. I thought it would have been a funny post goal celebration or post-match celebration if a whole team did #neymar for social media fiends.

Neymar had a higher number of haircuts that the number of goals he scored. Brazil very the most artistic divers, in fact diving probably birthed from South America, from my memory of watching FIFA WCs since the 80s. Prior to diving you have European defenders hacking down South American attackers and getting away with them most of the time, while causing many injuries, some career ending.
So diving was born. Now it's diving all the way.
