I'm basically talking about Stevenson's analysing skills as a commentator during a match, he's obviously poor at it.

Really unusual for the upcoming ABs/Aussie match to be played on a Thursday.

AFL preliminary finals are on the Friday and Saturday. The ARU wouldn’t have access to venues in Melbourne on the weekend.

With the Boks not having the very predictable pair of de Klerk & Pollard at 9/10 in their last match certainly made their attack more dangerous.

Charge downs should never happen - if a player bothered to look up for a split second, and it looked like they were going to get charged down, they would not have kicked in the first place, they would go to deck & recycle the ball etc... also too often you see a player grubber it directly into an opposition player, need to look for gaps between the other sides players to direct the grubbers through.

I'm not sure you've played the game looking at these comments.

Tried kicking a ball while looking up? Tried timing how much time you lose looking up then back to the ball again after catching it, before trying to get a kick away? Stand a bit deeper is an easier solution than looking up and down.

If you think the kicker is intentionally kicking grubbers into players thats nuts

Of course they're looking to put it in gaps. Not sure if you've noticed but everyone is moving. The gap that was there a split second ago isn't there now. Grubbers low along the ground through traffic are always a gamble. If the defending players are far enough apart to make that not an issue then you shouldn't generally be kicking unless you have no support, because there's gaps to run into.

There's lots of arm chair experts out there that have never done what they claim to be experts at.

I've played plenty of rugby, sounds like you haven't played any though.

A split second is stuff all time to look up, then look back at the ball & kick - I've seen too many tries given away through silly intercepts & charge downs... you don't have to kick, you sum up the situation & take the best option available.

Clearly I don't think players are kicking grubbers into opposition players on purpose, that's utterly ridiculous - I'm saying at times those kicks are poorly executed... totally pointless using a short or long tactical kicking, if those kicks don't put real pressure on the other side.

And yet if they could keep 15 on the field they’d put 50 on us.
