To others who watched the opener on Stan, did any of you get your 4K stream? I think the best I got was 1080p. It didn't look as sharp as many of the other matches I've watched on Stan. Hopefully, they sort it quick.

Was Aussie Commentators on Stan, who was it on Sky? I haven't checked on my Sky recorder as yet. I was under the impression the commentators would be whomever the host broadcaster had arranged.

I watched on Stan but only got the HD quality.  I do believe the replay was 4K though which was odd.

I can honestly say that Fiji v Wales was one of the best games I've seen in a very long time, and in the same breath, the last time I was this angry about the result of a match, was France v NZ 2007 Quarterfinal.

What a truly great contest, a fantastic spectacle ruined by Referee Matt Carly refusing to repeatedly card Wales for disgraceful infringing on their own line over and over again. I am so mad I can barely type this.

Malcolm Marx, one of the world's best hookers, has been ruled out of the RWC for South Africa due to a serious long-term knee injury. That's pretty sad news for him.

I haven't been able to find a breakdown of how the bonus point and for & against work in pool play, but I saw on a rugby forum someone mention that If the AB's don't beat Italy with a bonus point then we run the risk of making the finals up to other teams.

Now bear with me... France play Italy in the last round and considering the playoff situation after the quarters and the fact that France will most likely qualify first regardless and France could meet the 2nd place team from Pool A again what are the chances that France throw the game (and or name a B/C team and lose) v Italy and knock the All Blacks out?

I believe it's 1 bonus point for scoring 4 tries, and 1 for losing by 7 points or less (hence Fiji got 2 points in the loss to Wales). I'd say there's close to 0% chance of NZ not getting the 4 try bonus point in each of the remaining pool games - assuming they do, they will end up on 15 points. Given France missed a bonus point again this morning they'll be on maximum 13 points before that last game so they'll still need to beat Italy to secure top spot in the pool. There's a scenario where losing that game could knock themselves out if 3 teams end up with 3 wins and 1 loss, and they have missed out on bonus points in the first 2 games.

Yea, the 4 try BP vs Italy will be much needed. If two teams finish on the same points in pool play is it For and against that breaks the tie?

I don't know if France can afford a loss to Italy at this point. Their win against the ABs was by a good margin but this morning's game wasn't. I don't think they'd put it at risk. Besides, based on the ABs game, they stand a good chance of beating us again anyway. Why risk it?

I with you on that one! It was a great game to watch and helped bring back the excitement of RWC games after that tone deaf All Blacks game.

I thought it would be points difference first but turns out it's result between the two sides.

After watching Uruguay give France a very good game, it's all the more frustrating thinking about how the French dominated the AB's up front.

Kinda disappointed that Tamaiti isn't getting a run this next game against Namibia. Or did I miss an injury announcement?

Would be nice if the All Blacks could manage to play a whole game with 15 players on the field.

Tier 3 opposition but good game by Roigard, McKenzie, Lienert-Brown and Fainga’anuku in particular.

Yup, feel much the same way. I felt really frustrated that it was yet *another* red card by our men.

Roigard looks very much at home at 9 at test level, unlike Christie who whilst often doesn't do too much wrong (Other than the slowness of his ruck clearance and general passing), doesn't really seem to have any noticeable standouts in his game either.

Surely, we are done with Clarke now? He (barely) has the speed of a loose forward. His stats make him look better than he was in that game. He breaks tackles and beats defenders, yet rarely looks like scoring. George Bridge at least was helping others score tries.

One area that really has dropped off in our game, is the speed at which we compete for ball in a ruck. There is often a noticeable delay. We should either compete for the ball, with the urgency that is required or leave the ruck uncontested and use the time to form a defensive line that is moving quickly into the opposition line (legally) to put pressure on them.

Dmac, is still a reasonable way off our first two choice 10's. He has lost some of his pace, and his game management is passable at best. He is still prone to pretty average decision-making and isn't the defensive equivalent of Mo'unga.

I am quite worried next year is going to be pretty average. 10 is thin, lock is going to potentially be a problem because there is Barrett a gulf to the next available. 9 looks the best it has for a long time. Our Props have some potential, but hooker is a bit iffy.

Japan well in this game. England have gone a try ahead but off a highly sus try in which Marler has falconed the ball - not a knock-on, but he did then run into a defender and created a gap that the try scorer ran through - which all the officials have missed.

A lot of forward passes being missed here too. The Japanese are extremely disciplined so they're not giving England cheap points like a lot of other teams do.

Get up Fiji! I'd have bet $1000 before the game Fiji would win, and $5000 within 10 minutes of the start of the game. Australia never looked like winning. Fiji dominated Australia at set piece and their discipline was better (though some high tackles weren't great).

To be honest the scoreline didn't reflect how good Fiji were. It was feasible that without their chance try, Australia would have gone try-less in that match.

South Africa vs Ireland this weekend, what an absolute treat that will be to watch. The two best teams in the world IMHO
