I am unsure how much longer Gatland can hang on to his job. Wales were woeful against Australia. To concede 2 tries whilst down a man for 20 minutes is pretty poor. The Captain almost was in tears in the post match interview.

Some of the substitutions were a bit strange as well.

Everyone is hailing Australia's return to top tier Rugby, but I wouldn't call beating this Welsh side anything other than business as usual for even a fairly average side.

Ireland were very lucky to hold out against Argentina. Last weekend wasn't a one off, they don't look themselves.

Plummer off overseas, continuing the trend of capable Blues players overlooked by All Black coaches being in high demand elsewhere.

Harry Plummer reportedly considering a move to France.

He doesn't seem to form the core of Robertsons 10 plans. I am disappointed he didn't get a proper run at 10 to see if he could step up.

Having said that, he has been around a while and this year in Super Rugby he was very good, but he has been very average some years at all levels.

I maintain that one good season does not necessarily a good test player make.

The first fives in front of him at the All Blacks are two from the Blues and one from the Chiefs.  It's a stretch to blame Blues players being overlooked, when your path to the ABs is blocked by two other Blues players.

For any conspiracy theorists, note there's not a Crusader to be seen in the wide array of first fives across both the ABs and AB XV squads.

BB is about as much a Blues player as I am. He's not the first All Black we've had to foster in Auckland at the expense of retaining our own talent.

I assume you're not actually serious.  Who put BB in the Blues?  Was it Razor and the evil Blues overlooking AB selectors?  Nope it was the Blues themselves.

Again, I'm totally lost how you can possibly blame Plummer going overseas on some sort of anti-Blues bias at the ABs.  I think Rieko would be quoting the Cranberries to you about this one.

Meh. The merits of who gets how many second chances and where they play their rugby has been done to death in this thread.

It doesn't surprise anyone who lived through the Mitchell era, it's nothing new.

Please tell us which genuinely talented 10's from Auckland who played for the Blues should have been considered in front of other 10's who actually played?

Your 'everyone hates the blues, and they are hard done by' thing used to be slightly amusing, but now comes across a fraction unhinged.

BB has played for the Blues and you have not, so I'd suggest he is far more a Blues player than you.

Plays about as well as 'no Crusaders player has ever made a mistake ever'.

I'll come back to you on the rest of your points once I've had as many hot dinners as Seevu Reece has had second chances.

I can't comment on this, because I have honestly no idea what it actually means.  Maybe John Mitchell himself wrote it.

That's a you thing not a me thing. No one spends more time ciritcising their own team more than me.

I am laughing in Reiko Ioane right now. I honestly can't recall the last time someone made as many basic errors as he makes, and still gets selected.

It's that bloody pro-Blues bias in the ABs selectors.  First choice first five, centre and both wings now all from the Blues.  I think they keep the token Crusader at fullback to try to stop the conspiracy theorists ranting about the obvious pro Blues bias in the All Blacks.

Joe Schmidt wins a couple of games, a good performance, coming back from a decent deficit to win it against England at the dead, and a big win against probably the most hapless Wales team I've seen in many many years, and now he is being hailed as the Messiah of Australian Rugby.

Pundits and press are fickle.

Two weeks ago they were calling for his head.

The funniest thing about the Wallabies situation is the rant from David Campese a few weeks ago.  He went on about how amazing his team was to win a grand slam back in the 80's and how that's so far beyond the current team.  However, if the current team beat Scotland this week, a Grand Slam is exactly what they will have just done.

Campo also went on about how bad a foreign coach is for the Wallabies and the need for a true blue Aussie coach.  He even went on about his great team and their great Aussie coach, Alan Jones.  Oh dear...
