Is there a drop off point at the Auckland airport domestic terminal?

I went there yesterday and there were signs directing me to enter the short stay car-park for a drop off location. I entered the car park and saw no further signs directing me to a drop off location. I eventually settled on a point where pedestrians with luggage were entering the car park. I let my family off there and they were able to make their way to the terminal OK but I was just stopping in the car park and holding up other traffic and it was not what I would have expected for a drop off point.

If there is a real drop off point then I'd like to know about it before my next visit there.

Can anyone help?

air nz or qantas?

air nz, drive straight through the roundabout and drive between the 2 multi story cararks and under the overbridge. stay in the right hand lane. round the left corner, proceded through the signaled pedestrian crossing then follow the right hand 180 corner into the drop off zone. the signs are very clear from whn i have been there

qantas, turn right at the roundabout, then turn left past the tank farm.

its pretty much just follow the signs, you have probably just gotten confused by their termonolofy as they do offer a shore 30 min i think drop off in the short term carpark. but this is not "outside" ther terminal.

Yep there definitely is a free pickup/drop off zone, you don't even need to validate a ticket like you do at Wellington airport. Just follow the road and it does a loop one lane in from the building. The lane closest to the building is reserved for taxis, buses etc.

No drop off at Jetstar terminal unless you're in a cab.  You have to drop off at the Air NZ one and walk..

Thanks, when I went this week, I went straight on at the roundabout but the signs then directed me to take a left into the parking area and not to go straight ahead between the multi-stories. I guess that next time, I'll keep going ahead and see where that gets me.

I went and had a look when i went to get takeaways for dinner tonight, as i live just round the corner, and i can see how you ended up where you did. You say the big sign on the side of the car-park building and followed that. :) it says "public pickup/drop off 10min free parking"

there is actually 2 drop off and pickup areas, that one mentioned above which is in one of the short term carparks and its where you can actually sit in your car and wait, and there is the one "outside" (which is like 30m from the front of the terminal with no covered walkways at all) which is a purely drop off/pickup with no waiting zone. your suppose to only be able to wait long enough for the person to get in/out of the car. once you go straight through the roundabout just stay in the right side/lane and you will get there.
