Uber today announced fares in Auckland and Wellington have dropped by 20%.
Uber says lower fares mean passengers will use it more, creating more demand, less time in between fares meaning more money for drivers.
They have also made changes to what drivers need to driver for Uber, they previously needed a Passenger Service License and COF.
They now only need
- To have had their full license for 2 years
- To pass a NZTA Driver History Check
- A Ministry of Justice Criminal Background Check
- A vehicle with 4 doors in good condition less than 10 years old
Meaning the cost for a driver to get on board is now only $20
